LTO Maxell Ultrium 3 features a native transfer rate of 40-80MB/sec and native capacity of 400GB (80-160MB/Sec and 800GB compressed). Cartridge memory is 4KB LTO-CM. This latest generation provides improved archival application, superior durability and very low error rate levels. Offers backward compatibility with earlier generations, allowing LTO-3 end-users continued access to Ultrium 1 and 2 tape archives and providing investment security for years to come. Features write-once WORM functionality, allowing secure backup and storage of critical data for legal and regulatory compliance. Extremely smooth, high-rigidity PEN base film to ensure smooth magnetic surface and low noise levels for high-density data recording. The PEN base film allows improved dimensional stability during drive operation for more accurate recording and excellent archival storage. LTO 3 delivers extremely high output and enhanced stability for signal reading and writing.

Write-Once, Read-Many (WORM) capability helps you to integrate a cost-effective solution easily to secure, manage, and archive compliant data records to meet stringent industry regulations. Smoother base film and smaller magnetic particles increase the bit density, allowing more data to be recorded in the same amount of tape increasing the number of recording tracks to 706 tracks. Smoother, thinner basefilm enables a longer tape to be packed into the same size cartridge shell, contributing to the increased capacity.
